BloodyDisgusting.com: Tell us about your latest film which you wrote and directed, “SLiTHER”. Would you classify “SLiTHER” as a zombie movie or a monster movie or a hybrid?

James Gunn: Definitely not a zombie movie. Our diseased baddies talk and have a mind, even if it is one uni-mind among them. I’d say it’s a type of comedic, gory, over-the-top monster movie that they used to make a fair amount of in the ‘80’s, but since then have become rather rare. “Tremors”, “Shaun of the Dead”, “From Dusk ‘Til Dawn”, maybe “The Faculty” – those have been some of the very few studio releases since 1990 that are tonally related to “SLiTHER”.
